Redefine manages a vast portfolio of office, industrial and retail properties across South Africa. They came to us with a vision of establishing a unified user experience for all the retail property websites. Each website had to feel unique to each mall’s identity while keeping the same underlying design DNA as the rest. We also had to make it effortless for Redefine to roll out additional websites for future retail properties without specialised design and development knowledge.
Customisation was essential for this project, but so was uniformity – which is why Umbraco was a no-brainer as a CMS. It allowed us to apply one sitemap template for all current and future locations that were still editable within certain parameters. This allowed us to lock in a specific Redefine theme that included layout, brand fonts and site features.
Every mall’s website would still feel unique because it would feature original location imagery and colours matching each retail space. We also provided restricted access for mall managers to edit and update their own mall’s website without affecting the websites of other locations. They have enough control to update the directory, post announcements, and add mall specials and other services and facilities that the public would need to know about.
We delivered a captivating web design that aligned with the modern architectural sensibility of the physical retail spaces. The user experience is simple, intuitive and built to instantly help visitors find exactly what they’re looking for. Redefine was shopping for an online family of websites with individual personalities and a shared origin, and they were sold on what we produced.
